The
Enormous Fly
by Britni
One year ago a girl named Christy was watching TV. When she was finished
with it she went over to the window. She looked out. All she could see was a
big black thing covering the window. Christy was terrified. She went outside
to see what it was. It was a fly, a giant, hairy, ugly fly. It had already
smashed some houses. "Help! Help!" she yelled. No one came. She so wanted it
to go away. She wanted to help. A plan just immediately popped into her
head. First she needed to get some frogs, billions of frogs. She wondered
where she was going to get them from. She went to the woods behind her house.
She caught about fifty frogs and brought them all home. She yelled, "Go
frogs! Go eat that fly!" They were everywhere. The giant fly kept gobbling
them all up. In no time flat they were all gone. The giant fly ate them all.
Soon she had another idea. It was to get lots of bug spray and spray it. In
ten minutes she had forty cans of bug spray. She ran out the door and ran to
the giant fly. She sprayed and sprayed. It didn't work. There wasn't enough.
Then another idea came into her head. It was to make a big fly swatter. She
got a big piece of string and four blankets. She tied the string around the
blankets. She was ready to lift it all up. It was too heavy. It wouldn't
budge. Christy gave up. She didn't have any more ideas. Then when she was
feeling sad another idea popped into her head. She ran to the zoo and asked
the zoo keeper for a big cage on wheels. The zoo keeper went and got a big
cage. Christy wheeled it to the fly and started to go faster. She stopped.
The fly started to fly backwards. It flew right into the cage. Christy shut
the door of the cage and wheeled it to the zoo. The fly lived very happily,
with food and water.
