I put 15 maggots
In the fridge
One nibbled
On the orange carrots
Two chewed
On the green lettuce
Three gulped
The crunchy celery
Four chomped
The wet butter
Five slurped
The sugary pop
My mom
Opened the door
And fell on the floor
I think I'll leave
The maggots there.

They like it in there
Because there's yummy food
They're crunching the mushy hamburgers
Like greedy kids
They're munching the bright red apples
Like they're hard candy canes
They're gulping the white milk
Like they're humans having a feast
They're nibbling the juicy strawberries
Like it's a dainty party
They're feasting on scrumptious grapes
Like there's no tomorrow
Mom opens the door...
and falls to the floor.
I think I'll keep them in there.
